CALI: High Resolution Surround, Binaural HD Audio Tracks information and recording process
The track "Cali" conjures up an image of sitting on a beach in California in a contemplative state while looking out at the water represented by the repeating ambient synth line. The B section departs to a fun and playful rhythmic groove that consists of hand percussion, a skippy bass line plus an offbeat drum groove. As the track develops it grows into a more celebratory and cinematic feel while the live drums provide the heavy 6/8 laid back feel. The track finally ends with a vibrating delay line synth pulse that dissapears off into the horizon.
The Binaural mix was created by capturing the stereo output of the studio control monitors from the analog output of the API Vision console using a Neumann KU100 Binaural microphone. The Binaural mix is intended to be listened to in headphones.

Chance is a simple pop track built around a popular synthesizer from 1980's called a "Yamaha CS80". This sound has a horn like quality and lends itself well to rhythmic patterns. I used various analog tools and Pro Tools plug ins to give this sound an exagerated attack or "front end" in order to make it more aggresive inside the track. The Buchla synthesizer was used to create a randomized ostinato that cycles in and out throughout the entire track. The snare drum was tuned very low to give that fatback 70's sound and weight to the backbeat. The synth strings and bongos on the outro recall a vintage arrangement style used in old school production.
The Binaural mix was created using a Neumann KU-100 Binuaral microphone recording the output of an analog console capturing the audio mix through the studio control room monitors. Recorded and mixed on an API Vision analog console. The Binaural mix is intended to be listened to in headphones.

The starting point for this track was a Buchla synthesizer sequence. In my pursuit of creating Genre bending music, I decided to add a tremelo guitar which infuses the track with a country flavor. The live drums on this track consist of a kind of start/stop groove in order to create space during the main section as they become continuous at the end. An analog tape machine was used to create backwards loops of various elements. A Moog System 55 provides the classic and distinctive bass sound throughout the track. A synth string box creates the high expansive octave string lines at end.
Cowboys is the first Binaural track I've made available for purchase on the website. The Binaural audio file was created by capturing the analog output of the studio control room speakers using a Neumann KU-100 Binaural microphone. The Binaural mix is intended to be listened to in headphones.

Olympus: High Resolution Surround, Binaural HD Audio Tracks information and recording process
Olympus is a quasi "Ska" groove track with an aggressive CS80 synth sound that drives the track on the upbeats. The Moog System 55, known for it prodigious sound provides the substantial low end pulsing sequenced bass part coupled with the heavy live drums backbeat that helps to create a trance like feel. The Buchla synthesizer creates an ostinato that plays thoughout the track. At the outro of the track a Gong is introduced along with a high synth string line to create an expansive cinematic feeling.

Warrior is a track I created in 2013 and decided to remix in 2019. A heavy backbeat drives the beginning of the track along with dark anthemic guitar and string lines over the top giving way to a cinematic B section moving into a dreamy C section consisting of a delayed acoustic piano motif surrounded by panning pads before arriving at a driving "tribal" rock groove. The instrumentation for "Warrior" consists of traditional instruments such as a C7 Yamaha Piano, electric bass, guitar and acoustic drums.
